CommentsJust found the site and haven't looked around too much. From the outset it sure looks like a great effort. Was stationed at the 2060th's Headquarters in Pforzheim and have created a site for all members of the 12thRRS, 2060thRRS, 1944thCommSq, 7030thCSG-Det0100, FTD936K, 603rdAC&WSq-Det2 and all the outlying sites of the associated Radio Relay Squadron's that were assigned to Pforzheim Headquarters. You can access the site at: http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/1944thCommSqdn/ I will add a link to this site there and hope y'all will do the same here. Looking forward to seeing former AF Comm personnel at our site. Gary A. Merkel
CommentsI was a member of 7030th CSG; served in Pforzheim as the Chaplain from 1962 to 1965...have been unable to pull up the web site...hope to attend the reunion July 24,2004..Galesburg, IL. John Truitt
CommentsI really like this site, and all the great pictures. I recognoize a few people too, ie; Brian and Gisela Cardinale, and Dennis Blanchard. I'm amazed that the site still looks so much like it did when I was there in the late 60's, and again in mid 70's.
CommentsSorry 'bout the double entry! Roger
CommentsI was stationed at Kelly Barracks with Company A 34th Signal Bn from November 1964 to February 1967. I was in the HF (High Frequency) Radio platoon and spent a lot of time supporting VII Corps units in the field. Like everyone else, I remember most of the good times and very few of the bad ones. Hope to hear from someone that was there about the same time I was. Ed Brooks (Sgt. Rock)

CommentsEarl Burlingame & I were Warren H.S. classmates and played together on the varsity football team. He played end & I'll never forget the block he put on a guy to allow me a 60 yard run. He was one of the nicest guys in town. Didn't know he had passed away until a couple of days ago. We are planning our 50th H.S. class reunion & were trying to locate classmates, including Earl. One of the committee members found your website where we were all saddend to learn of Earl's passing. I served tours in Berlin, Nurnberg & Langerkopf with USAFSS, TAC & AFCS. Also served a tour with AFCS at Tan Son Nhut, RVN. Didn't realize Earl was also a member of AFCS. Great web site! Brings back fond memories of Earl & Deutschland. MSgt Bob Hutchison, USAF, (Retired) CommentsI was at Krabbenloch in 1970. In fact I was operating a 26 delta that was parked next to the motor pool one night when someone set the motor pool on fire. I'd been using the motor pool for power. when the lights went out in the rig I looked out and the motor pool was on fire only a few feet from the 26 delta. I got in the truck and pulled wires and all away from the building into the middle of the ball field. I had to get back on the air so while they were putting out the fire I got a generator and set up in the ball field. I was back on the air and thought everything was alright at 0200 when I heard a loud boom outside. When I opened the door to see what it was, the Battalion Cammander had been climbing the metal steps and the Sgt Major had put his hand on the Colonels back.I had forgotten to ground the rig. They were laying on the ground smoking and not cigars.
Commentsnice site, keep on the good work. http://www.kontaktlinsendepot.at
CommentsBrings back good memories
CommentsIt good to see what Reisenbach looked like it it's "early" years. I was stationed there in 85-86' as part of the 603rd TCS OL-A. One of these days I'll dig up the photos and send them your way. It really didn't change much. I assume it was a great duty assignment then as it was in my time. They just don't get better than that... especially when the fighters would buzz the tower :))
CommentsEnjoyed learning about the webpage. I was with the first group to arrive at the site in 1957, as part of Guidance Detachment #3 586th Tactical Missle Group. The Group and Wing Headquarters at that time were at Hahn Air Force Base. The first commander was Lt. Gerald Winchell. The unit had been located close to Munich and was relocated to Reisenbach. Charles Switzer
